Antique sapphire & diamond ring; the central oval faceted sapphire (approx 7mm x 5mm) is nested between 2 twinkly old cut diamonds (approx 0.4ct total) in platinum claw settings upon a dainty yellow gold band.
The diamonds are a lovely eye clear white and the sapphire a deep dark blue. There is some light surface wear to the sapphire. There is a heavy patina to the inside of the gold section of the mount & the platinum has darkened over the years, giving this ring a beautifully aged antique feel to it.
Early 20th century. Mis-stamped 8ct but tests for 18k gold. Stamped for Platinum.
