Antique silver plated thimble Dorcas thimble with floral pattern. Dorcas thimbles were patented by Charles Horner in 1884 and were made of a layer of strong steel sandwiched between layers of sterling silver.
Stamped DORCAS, with makers mark, 'CH' for Charles Horner and with the number 6. The bottom of the thimble has a diameter of approx. 17mm.
In very good condition with patches of patina and light surface wear including some scuffs and scratches.
