Antique silver fob medal with empty shield and scrolls for personalisation should it be desired.
It is a heavyweight piece, weighing approximately 12g. It measures approximately 36mm tall and 32mm wide.
Very good condition with some wear and marks.
Some of the hallmarks are worn. The ones that are still legible are half of a capital H with serifs plus the maker's mark D&D. The first ring attached to the bale has a lion passant mark. The fob tests as silver. Both rings are unsoldered, so can easily be opened/removed.
From the information available I have concluded that this is a quality piece made in 1882 by Dingley and Dingley in Birmingham's jewellery quarter.
