A mid Victorian Etruscan Revival 15ct gold mourning locket brooch, set with a central old cut diamond.
The circular brooch measures approx. 3.3cm and has 3 tiers; originally it would have had a glass back and be used to hold a locket of hair or other small memento of a loved one, but unfortunately this has been lost over the years.
It has a small loop where a safety chain would have originally been attached; this could be repurposed with a jump ring if you would prefer to wear this as a pendant.
It is in very good condition with light surface wear, including some scratches to the front. There is a little discolouration to the solder points where the pin is attached. The pin is not gold. The old cut diamond measures approx. 2mm.
